Senior Citizens, Inc. celebrates 50 years of service
to Coastal Georgia
In 1959, Harley C. Morrison gathered a group of friends to make and deliver sack lunches for thirteen seniors in his neighborhood who could no longer prepare their own meals. From that small, neighborhood effort, Senior Citizens, Inc. has grown to encompass several programs serving thousands of people across Coastal Georgia each year.
As the only non-profit organization in the community dedicated entirely to the well-being of seniors, Senior Citizens, Inc. has been helping people age successfully for 50 years. Delivering home-cooked meals, providing transportation, and giving families an opportunity for the day care of their aging parents are all cornerstones of the organization.
Fifty years from its inception, Senior Citizens, Inc. provides services to Chatham, Liberty, Bulloch, Glynn, McIntosh, Bryan, and Effingham counties to include community activity centers, delivery of more than 1,800 meals daily, adult daycare, in-home support, and educational courses at The Learning Center. Senior Citizens, Inc. advances the importance and significance of helping the elders in our community age successfully into their senior years.
Through the courtesy of dedicated volunteers and philanthropic donors, Senior Citizens, Inc. will continue to provide programs and services for many years to come.
