 VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIESSenior Citizens, Inc.’s most critical volunteer need, and perhaps the most rewarding, is the delivery of Meals on Wheels. More than a thousand hot meals are delivered each day to homebound seniors by dedicated, caring volunteers. The meals are packed and transported in coolers capable of holding the appropriate temperature for up to three hours. The entire process, from picking up the meals to the end of delivery, should only take 1 1/2 hours (or less) of your time. Many times, volunteers are the only outside contact that our clients have during the day, so delivering Meals on Wheels is a minimum time investment for maximum reward! Prior to beginning, each volunteer is trained before taking over a route on his or her own. Our staff will Our volunteers include retired couples, mothers with young children who want to instill the importance of volunteerism at a young age, and corporate groups who share the route among co-workers. We welcome anyone with a valid Georgia driver’s license and the willingness to help seniors in need. Our caring volunteers continue to make our program a success!
