Senior Citizens, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, began in 1959 with the vision of one man, Harley C. (Nippy) Morrison. Mr. Morrison, then an executive at Union Camp, noticed that many of his older acquaintances could no longer provide adequate nutrition for themselves. Each week, he and several friends would pack bags of pre-made lunches for once-a-week delivery to 13 seniors throughout the community to meet that need. From that humble beginning grew a private nonprofit organization to help people age successfully with care that is customized to the individual.

Serving four counties in coastal Georgia, including Chatham, Bryan, Effingham, and Liberty, our certified staff has built a care organization that is a magnet for activities for older adults, nonprofit agencies, and ancillary services provided by private businesses. This allows us to lead in our community through intention and transform the lives of the people we meet every day.
